Finds From Another Ghost Town

Conito@55 and I went detecting at the ghost town of Wabuska Nevada today. Kinda slim pickin's out there.

Wasn't sure what this was at first. Has m.o.p. in the ends.

Turned out to be "Cobslink" snap together cufflinks! That's a new one on me.

Kind of odd buckle with the offset prong.

I've never heard of Wabuska Nevada before and I thought I'd been through a lot of towns in Nevada. After I looked it up on a map I must've driven by it few times. We had a consignment of rockdrill parts at the Nevada copper mine in Yerington and I was out there every month to do a count on that consignment. Can't say I every seen any sign saying welcome to Wabuska.

It's at the northern edge of Mason Valley on Alt 95. Until about 15 years ago the Wabuska Hotel was a well known biker bar. The train station, which was just across the RR tracks was moved to the RR museum in CC in the 80's.

It would've been nice if I had more time to explore that area. I would drive out from Denver and did what I could to get back within the week. I would at times take I80 west out there and often return east out all across Nevada Hwy 50. Nevada has so many open areas to explore and it was sure nice to be away from this Colorado rat-race during those times.
