Finds from Nassau, Bahamas - Cable Beach

I had the only MD I saw all week and there were coins everywhere. I couldn't take the kids during the day so I only got out for about 4 hours total. Vacationing can really get in the way of MDing.

I used a $70 BH Pioneer Ex, found 106 coins, no silver or gold. I dug so many quarters that I concentrated on the nickel/pull tab signals trying to find a ring but no luck.

Oh, on one beach at low tide, coins were laying on top of the sand.

Someone with skill and a good MD could probably find some nice things here. Take a look.

I'm sure you'd do well. I found 90% of these in dry sand. The Pioneer EX doesn't pinpoint so I had huge targets in the wet sand. Plus, there were so many dry sand targets, I was scooping almost constantly. That beach pictured was crowded with swimmers/waders pretty much all day and is only 3' deep for 30 yards so wading would work well.

Check this out - about the coins on top of the sand, a fellow MDer who didn't bring his told me about a spot where he and his wife picked up coins at low tide the day before. I hit the next night and sure enough, quarters, nickels, dimes, all laying on top of the sand just above the water line. Crazy!

The kids drove me nuts or I'd have done more. The Pioneer doesn't have headphones so it's hard to ignore folks and easy to draw a crowd

Did you have any problems getting the detector through customs?

I disassembled it, put it in a backpack in a large suitcase, and checked the large suitcase. I think they opened the suitcase and checked it but no one said anything about it.

One of the reasons I took a cheaper detector (I have access to a few nicer ones in my family) was to check out how it would fly especially internationally.

No issues. Also, in the Bahamas, I MDed near cops, security and hotel staff. They were curious and even helpful. No worries there mon!
