024.JPG 017.JPG 033.JPG 027.JPG 011.JPG 013.JPG 006.JPG 008.JPG Hit the banks of the Rancocas Creek here in town this morning as the water level is down because of dry weather. Found a second grave memorial marker (Spanish-American War) deep in the exposed bank as well as an old East Side Bottling Co. bottle from Camden, N.J. Later I hit 2 local sports fields where I found a silver heart pendant, my first 1/2 dollar (1776-1976 Kennedy Half), a Pemberton-Fort Dix Soccer Tournament medallion, a U.S. Coast Guard Atlantic Strike Team pin, a couple of keys, 24 pennies, 6 nickels, 41 dimes, and 29 quarters, (earliest a 1962 nickel), a toy car, a Remington-UMC Nitro Club No. 12 shotgun head (circa 1911-1915), a National Silver Co. spoon (circa 1930s), etc.

Nice pendant, I've only found 2 halves, one of them a Bicentennial, the other a '74. I've found an American Legion grave marker and returned it to the local chapter. The rest of your finds are pretty cool too.

Your grave marker probably came downriver during a flood? Great artifact! Congrats on the cool finds. Sub 8-)

We have 3 cemeteries right here in town (Methodist-Baptist-Odd Fellows). I suspect that the markers were probably stolen from the graves some years ago when scrap metal prices were high and then tossed into the creek for what ever reason? I will try and find the original grave but it will be difficult without the veterans flag holder at the grave stone.

Would the local VFW be able to help? Or the records of the cemetaries? The AL one I found had some numbers and I believe a name, but I wasn't doing anything to it and maybe ruin it.

The Spanish American War marker has no IDs of any kind. It is pretty much generic in that sense. My step son is a local funeral director however and he may be able to help. Will see how things go.
