Checking this website out made me want to find the first coin of the year. I went to one of my "worked out" sites to see what I could find. There is a coating of snow on the ground here in Pa. and that makes it easy to see where you have been. I dug some of the usual junk, copper wire scraps, square nails and pieces of iron. I got a good +75 reading on my Spectrum XLT beside an old tree. I turned the plug over and found 7 coins scattered in the dirt. They were a 1911 Barber dime, 1907 V nickel, 1901 indian, 1910, 1911, 1916 and 1918 wheat cents. This is the most old coins I have found in one hole to date. I also found 2 flower buttons to finish my day. Not a bad start to the new year!
