First coins of the new year and both silver!

With the ground still not frozen and no snow around I hunted land where a colonial house once stood hoping to find oldness. However to my surprise a 1945 merc and a 1952 quarter. Also a Harley pin which seems to be more recent. Not the old coins I was hoping to find but I'll take it. I was told later that there was a carnival each summer back in the fifties at this same spot so that explains the merc and the Washington. Looks like I'll be heading back.
