XP Deus II v0.6 with 11" Coil
Primary Interest:
All Treasure Hunting
Got my Xmas pressie early, why wait for Santa to bring it, he may damage it on the way down the chimney.

I love my Cortes & know it inside-out but its not belt mountable & is slowly crippling me with the amount I do. So I wanted a detector which I could Belt mount & I choose a French make called XP Goldmaxx Power (UK version), it new (ish) on the market & it has great reviews.

I tested on the Winter Bean Field on land I have covered with the Cortes. I set it up as follows:
Iron Threshold - 7
Ses. - 12 O'clock
Ground - 12 O'clock
Iron Vol 10 O'clock
Silencer 'I'

(any XP users wish to comment on the above?)

I like to hear everything that's going on under my coil & decide myself whether to dig. I'm not one for pumping up the Disc so I dug many nails & coke bits & pieces.

After 1 hour or so, I found I had missed very little, so tried where the Archies had recently filled in the trenches.

Got hammered number 40 - Finally beat last years total ;D

4 Roman coins - one large one, no idea how I missed this one!
late 18th century Pewter Military button

The most interesting thing happened today, I got a button which has been personalised. The amazing thing is that Wisbech is over 1 hours drive & the name Mappen I can't find when researching. More amazing this is my second personalised ever & its the same as one I found early in the year. Not only was it not in the same field as the other one but it was over 1 mile away! (see second picture of one I found before)

Overall a good day, for a first try of the new machine.

One is a known Bronze Age Burial. The field is otherwise naturally bumpy.

Hopeful no need to, its a bit tougher than normal. Plus it will keep the weight down.
