Only 30 minutes into the hunt, I hit a signal that was reading as an old pull tab on my 305. I saw the target in the bottom of the hole thinking it's just some foil until I brushed away some dirt... GOLD!!! I couldn't believe my eyes and I took a good long break to calm down and keep searching. Just my luck, my detector's batteries died minutes later lol.
It's a beautiful gold women's ring with a 3/4 Karat diamond as the centerstone. I had it appraised today at a pawn shop who offered me $300! I'm happy with it but I know I can get more. My advice: Dig everything even it can be trash! (Except for iron, nobody needs that haha). Happy hunting!

Hang on to that ring, try to think of it like money in the bank. That is a very special ring in more ways then one, I think if you can get it researched you might find it is very old. Either way you don't see rings like that one, you also will never find a "first" ever again. Congrats on a very special find!

I missed this one when you first posted it. A .81 caret diamond ring deserves Banner! You got my vote.

If that is a VS1, E Color, .81 carat, the stone is worth more than $300. Not sure of the gold weight, but the pawn shop would probably sell it closer to $1200 or more. Not sure of the cut, but that is a good stone.

I bought a VS2 Marquis cut stone with G color .6 carat 4 years ago and it appraised for over $3000. It had some smaller stones surrounding it, but it wasn't as clear of a stone as yours.

Appraisals generally run a little high, but go get it appraised first. Personally, I think that there is more intrinsic value with the age and character of the design than anything else. I wouldn't take anything less then $800 for it or closer to $1,000.

I apologize for not updating here, but I sold this ring for $900 to my Aunt who was interested in buying it. What a deal huh? She separated the stone from the band and sold the band for $250 to my other Aunt who really enjoys the look of it. I'm glad it found a good home even if it is in two pieces.

That's awesome! Love the detail, Congrats!
