I've been at this for one month now and I finally found silver! After a 6 hour hunt at a school and old football field, a scratchy tone on the f70 at 5 inches yielded a 1963 Rosie!

I'm not sure what the large silver looking round thing is? It was at a school from the 1940's. Bout 5 inches down. Rang in at 82 or so which is in the silver range on the f70. But not markings on it?

It's cool how nice the silvers come out of the ground, seeing what it does to clad right! That other silver thing looks like a candle holder maybe???

I bet you were so excited. Congrats on the first silver

Oh YEAH! after hundreds of coins and countless junk finds.. I was like finally!

I believe my main issues is where I hunt. I need to concentrate on older places that have better chances of silver drops?? Idk

For sure! I began digging all solid pull tab signals hoping for low gold tones. I'm still looking for the yellow!

Congratulations on striking silver mate. I remember back in 2008 when I used to log all my finds it took me just over 100 hunts to find my first wheat penny. He hee. I'd like to think I've come some distance since then. Researching the area you hunt is indeed critical to finding the older coins. I started out in public parks and later began seeking private older homes and old foundation sights in fields. You'll be finding the good stuff regularly when doing a bit of research and gaining permissions onto older sights. Keep at it DT007.

Congrats on your first silver! Mine was a 61-D Rosie, found in 1991 and I still have it. I'm sure there'll be lots more in store for you- GL & Continued success!
