I was detecting in a little old lady's yard in WI and dinged this ring. It was so light, I thought it was just a cheap-o. But after cleaning it up at home, I found the "10K G.F." stamp, which officially makes it my first gold!

Two days later, I found this second ring (brass, I think) with two tigers on front and a glossy orange paint. The style seems old, what with the bendable bars for adjusting the size. I thought perhaps it'd be something from a local high school, but there's only Indians and Bulldogs in this area. Anyone with knowledge of northern Illinois high school mascots?

This reminds me of the first two right I got, also separated by just one day:

I'm now a strong believer that rings come in twos!

Congrats on the gold and other nice finds. Good luck and thanks for the pics!

Hey... 5% of gold is better than no gold. :)

The nicer Mexico silver band looks to be a fidgit or spinner ring. Nice!

Your bear thing is from the boy scouts it is a neckerchief slider, it was for the cub scout part of the boy scouts.

Hey, Thanks. That's great! With the curves on the edges, it fits just like a ring, ha! But that option is much, much cooler than some toy ring. I'll have to do some research on dates.

jesse.

Yup = Neckerchief slide, Not ring. Great finds though.

Nice find

Nice finds, and I hate to be negative, but, most people (at least everyone I know) don't consider gold plated or filled to be a "gold" find. Take it to a gold buyer and you'll find out in a hurry. Keep digging those low tones and you'll find a genuine gold item sooner or later. :icon_thumleft:

That's good to know. I'll call it my first "gold" and now just wait for the real thing :-)
