This makes rings #2 and #3 for 2014, but more importantly, these are my first two gold finds...and during the same hunt, no less. I really lucked out today.
The one with the
rocks is 3.2 grams, while the smaller baby ring is a whopping 0.8 grams. Both are marked 14K. This is nothing extraordinary to some, but finding gold for the first time feels pretty damned good, even if it's not much.
So yeah, it wound up being a pretty good hunt in spite of the rain. As the majority of the clad (and there was lots!) was right on the surface or just below it, this seems to be site that's regularly reseeded by joggers and athletes. I'll be keeping an eye on this place from now on.
