Today i decided to give my colonial site a brake. So i went to our local tot-lot. Found a few clad coins and !!!!WAM!!!! out popped my first gold ring. Its 10k from what i can see. Pic does not do it justice. I have to use my scanner. It's hart shaped with a small diamond in the center. Thanks to all for tips on md..ing I learned a lot about md...ing from reading posts on TN.

Re: First Gold Ring

Hey Nice find, I love Rings. Just a little suggestion. Put your ring on a paper clip. It will help it stand up
and makes for a great picture. You can lean it a little bit also.

Re: First Gold Ring

Congrats! I've been detecting for 8 yrs. and have yet to find ANY gold. I do alot of the older homesteads but I would still love to see that glimmer come from the ground.

Thank,s 4 tip. I dont have any paper clips handy but ill try to see if i can get a scan of the top. I cant wait to get a new camera...lost mine during hunting season.

Congrats on your first gold ring. Hope you find many more. If your finding nickles, you will find rings so don't discriminate to much. Tot lots are great places to find jewerly. I have found 85% of my rings in tot lots/playgrounds. I am talking over 150 rings. Great job!
