I didn't exactly kick the new year off with a bang, but at least I got out and dug some holes :icon_thumright:
I have been hunting this property off and on for 20 years, but I keep coming back because I never get skunked, and the potential for a nice military button is always there. I found six more buttons Saturday, which brings my total from this site to 267, including a number of military buttons from the War of 1812 through the Civil War. I keep waiting for a trime or half dime to show up, which is another reason I keep going back.

Here are Saturday's recoveries.

6 Buttons

A bell and a gas lamp valve. I have a couple identical valves from this site.

A nice flower button.

Cool finds- yet to go out this year myself- hopefully soon as long no snow

Nice Hunt!!! Congrats!!!

Nice finds Steve.

The flower button is really nice.

That was a well used site. Could probably hunt it for the rest of your life and not clear it all out.

This is the place where you found the Rifleman's button. A new farmer took over in 2019 and he is planting and plowing. It had always been a cow pasture before. There is so much iron in the ground, and the use layer is 2 feet deep in places. I'm sure there still a lot to be found.

Awesome site and some more cool saves. That’s the kind of site where every hole has big potential. Congrats!!

Wonderful site you have! Very nice finds! Good luck in all your return hunts there!

Great finds! You'll nab one of those little beauties yet- GL!

good stuff fellow PA'er - I'm still under snow here and can't get out :(

Thanks Gary. I'll get out as much as mother nature will allow this time of year :icon_thumleft:

Thanks Thad. It only takes one hole to make your day on a site like this.

Thanks Scruggs!

Thanks VPONE. I hope the snow melts and stays away for a while.

Good job !
Thanks E-Trac!

Thanks TH. In addition to all the buttons from this site, I have got a bunch of IHPs, about a dozen LCs, a capped bust dime, dozens of suspender buckles, CAR Badge, Shako plume holder, and lots of other cool stuff.

Nice digs and good luck on future hunts there searching for the trime and half dime! I cant wait to get back out myself!

Thanks Keith. This has been a good site for a lot of years, but silver is elusive. An 1827 capped bust dime, two barber dimes, and one barber quarter.

Not sure about yours, but mine has a backmark and probably dates to the 1830s.

Looks like a great day of digs. Congrats!
Thanks double F :icon_thumleft:

That flower button would've given me a heart-attack! The dotted lines on it (not to mention the size of it) resemble a GW 13 colonies button for sure.
