First hunt of the year

Managed some keepers today had to drive a ways to find thawed ground but worth it.. everything
8 buttons two large cents 1809 1810
I think the axe is modern it’s very light probably aluminum .Any info on the small horseshoe shaped item is welcome

After further review it appears to be an 2829 good eye and thanks for the assist.I would have labeled it incorrectly
