Metal Detecting
Got 12 pull tabs 10 pennies, a plated gold ring and a 1911 wheatie! I'm satisfied 8-) One quick problem, ole F2 kept hitting pulltabs in the zinc to dime range consistently, And these were not deep at all. I was running it, discriminating iron foil and tab and had nickel zinc dime and quarter open. Anyone know why this is happening? Also many pennies were only one-way signals and not repeatable.

Modern pennies contain zinc, and may read more of a trash signal especially if they are corroding.
I have a different detector but mine will read pull tabs as good at times, also the metal bands on pencil erasers read as dimes, may have to do with ground conditions. Our clad coins are mixed metals.

The thing is, last years hunting was fine, it's just the past two times I've been out, I've also noticed that the pinpointing was wayyyyyy off.

something may have shifted inside the coil for this to happen
was this area hunted by you before? without incident.
just a guess

I've hunted it before a lot! I've already sent fisherlabs 3 emails with no reply, I can see why they get bad reviews for customer service!
