First lead solider

Went along with a buddy to one of his permissions today. Best thing I found there was this mystery button. Anybody have any clues? While we were there the neighbor came over and invited us to detect her property. How sweet is that! She said the house is over 100 years old so the potential is there. We had about 45 mins to detect and were limited to a small chunk of yard due to her mowing. In one of my last holes out popped the lead toy. Made my day. I've always wanted to find one.

Mystery button is a very common golfers jacket button.

I have a few and have seen them found by a few others.

The machine gunner is FANTASTIC. A great lead toy.

I too have dug a kneeling WWI machine gunner lead soldier here in Virginia!!! Fun stuff in that dirt...

Subterranean is THE lead toy soldier guy... if he hasn't seen it, it's a good one for sure.

I found my first and only one, at the end of last year. Everybody had one, but little old me. One of my favorite finds!

Yours should be marked with "Made in Chicago," and was listed as "Kneeling Machine Gunner #5468" in his catalog. Yours is probably a mid-1920's production, based on the uniform. Sub
