...why I quit.

Stopped by the bank on a regular visit, on a whim asked if they'd mind if I bought a box of nickels. They said fine, no extra fee or anything. :icon_thumleft:

Get home, rip that baby open, visions of buffies and silver were dashed when I found 50 rolls of shiny new 2013-D's. :BangHead:

Back to CRH retirement. :tongue3:

Good luck everyone and keep up the great stories.

Yep. That's why I mostly stick to halves, unless I know I'm getting CWRs.

I always keep a box like that in my car for trading. they still suck though!

Ohhh...and thats the luck of the draw Immy...seems like everybody has been striking it rich on the nickels lately too.. That just means that per the law of averages...your next box should be half full of keepers ! Keep up the hunt, they will come. better luck next time..ddf

Hey Immy, give nickels a try in a few weeks, I did 2 nickel boxes today and found 2 war nickels, they are still out there to be found!! :)

I don't enjoy nickels either. I can search about half a box before I'm bored. I can honestly dig more keeper nickels with a metal detector than I can find CRHing a few boxes per month.

I was only getting new nickels from one bank for a while but decided to give another box a try from them, ended up with 4 buffaloes from it last night. Ya just never know. Keep on searching and you'll find something

Getting a box with all brand new coins is a hazard for anyone buying boxes of pennies, nickels, dimes or quarters.

My main beef with nickels is the time is takes to search one.
In that amount of time I can search 2-3 boxes of dimes or halves.

Still there is lots of keepers to find (Buffs, War, key/semikey, V, etc)
