Got the new CZ-21 Friday. Took it out today and really like it. Scored a nice white 14K, 5.58g ring with 8 nice (real) diamonds! I really like the detector. Takes a little getting used to from the Sand Shark. I really like the discrimination features. Not one bobby pin today! Aluminum sounds like gold so pop tops are still in the future. Thank God I got the 8" coil. It has a ton of drag compared to the SS. It's like the Sand Shark has a clump of sea weed on the coil when you're moving around. I guess I'll have to build strength in my shoulders to use this thing for long periods.

Glad you like the CZ, and it will get easier the more you use it. Nice ring! The beefier shaft may be contributing to some of that drag as well. I know when I first started swinging the WOT in the water I thought my wrist was going to explode and my arm was going to fall off. I switched shafts to a custom shaft much like the CZ and it provided better control but didn't help the drag issue much. Today I can swing it all day long in the water but at the end of the day I can certainly feel it. One thing I applied for a while was a good stiff wrist support until I got use to the drag...that really helped reduce the stress on my wrist a lot! The other thing I use is a tight forearm strap to prevent the forearm from slipping about in the arm cuffs....this also helps a lot.

Thanks, good info. I do like the straight shaft and I also hip mount too.

Not yet, I posted on Craigslist but don't have a lot of hope. It was a relatively inexpensive Casio, So I'm not too bummed.

Nice hunt - welcome to the CZ crew

Nice ice for first time out with new detector. If it's too heavy, hip mount or waist mount the control box.I had a cz20 years ago and thats what I did, mine had the 10 inch coil
It's a heavy machine unless you go in the water with it.:leprechaun-hat:

I saw a guy on the beach yesterday with his CZ's control box mounted on a chest harness. I hunt my Excal that way and love it! All the controls are right there in front of you and the weight is comfortably distributed....easily good for all day hunts. I've always hunted my CZ's at the hip but after seeing one on a chest harness I think I'll make the switch to a chest harness with the CZ.

Congratulation!

Great finds! I just ordered a CZ-21 yesterday and hope to take it out on Father's Day... I'll post my finds.
