Picked up a White's TDI SL Special Edition Tuesday and took off work Wednesday to try it out. Went up to an old hydraulic mining area and ran it for a few hours before the heat got to bad. Really like how easy it is to ground balance, as a first time user and first time ever using a PI I really expected it to be harder but I was detecting within minutes of reaching the area. Like most old mining areas there was lots of trash, pieces of iron and wire were everywhere. Did not find any gold but was very impressed at the depth I was digging for some pretty small pieces of metal. The ground did fool me twice but that is my fault, when a questionable target appears I need to learn to ground balance before digging.
One trip certainly does not constitute an opinion on a units overall worth but after my first trip I'm very impressed with my first PI.
