These are first pics taken with a Canon Power Shot A640. I'm happy with results so far but I hope to get a lot better with experience. It's a 10MP so I should be able to get good results. I like this rose pic except for the garden hose in the background. ;D The pic reminds me of a painting I did for my Mom.

Those are great photos pack! I think it makes the rose pic by getting the dew drops on the petals. Thanks for sharing.

Great pics! I Hmmm'd and Haw'd about the Canon vs Sony issue. Finally, I decided on the Sony DSC H9. After a lot of soul searching I decided ...and just bought the Sony DSC H9. Now, I'm in the midst of learning my new camera. Take care....and loved the pics.

Mel

I took the liberty of removing that hose from your pic...I hope you are ok with that.

Thanks for the compliments but, Roswellborn, I feel strongly that ANYONE can draw or paint. Little practice and guidance is all you need. My partner here at work used to say she couldn't draw a straight line. She has been helping me with a 4 by 5-foot mural we're painting on the wall at work. She can draw Minnie Mouse free-hand and some other stuff. She even painted our office sign. It's fun to watch someone when they actually draw something that they thought they could never do.

I'd forgotten until recently, but I used to draw a lot. Just little pencil sketches. But painting? I don't even do a decent job with painting the hall with a roller. If I use a paintbrush, it's (a little) better, but not by much...

Heaven help me, you're about to talk me into giving it one more try, dangit.

Maybe I should have said I admire anybody who can paint like you do :D

anyway, do keep 'em coming - they're wonderful to see.

yours,
Nan
