Looks like an obsidian preform. I used to have a permission on a vineyard in Calistoga and would find lots of those there, and the occasional finished projectile point too.

I’d agree, although it could be a toss due to this area? Someone who flakes would know better.

Welcome, don’t be shy.

Are you near any obsidian sources? Many times I think they would grab a selection of rocks, travel a days walk and process arrowheads while they camped. I believe various tribes likely shared sources or guarded them as a commodity.

I have obsidian artifacts sourced from over 600 miles away... lots of trade going on.... But I still say that is dacite
