FIRST ROBIN OF THE SEASON

Is it a pileated woodpecker? Those are the biggest 'peckers.

That's it.
I was to lazy to get my "Common Birds of Georgia" Pamphlet.

They have a neat way of swooping down then quickly back up to the feeder ( that's just 2 feet from the window). 128.webp.

It's been a few months since I added any pictures , this should be a Female Cardinal , thought I had a woodpecker picture.

OH No!
That's a Male , I call "bad Hair Day".

I need to learn how to preview my pic's in a larger size . Sorry.

I don't like robins. I will repeat that. I don't like robins. All they do is eat my cherries, strawberries and blue berries. Even with netting on my fruit, them sometimes get under and eat every last berry.

Sounds like you need a few Natural Predators around Say a Non-Poisonous snake or 2 . LOL

I have garter and milk snakes here. They are too small to do any harm to the robins. I actually put tin roofing down for them to live under. Maybe to your suggestion I will bring some rattlesnakes in. Consider it done. Look out neighbor kids, I got rattlers in my yard.

Just been sitting here thinking since my post, I Love Birds ! & I sure envy their ability to fly.
Tweet Tweet.

If you can handle it ? Do it .
No Bad idea.

A darn snake got up into a Carolina Wren's nest about 6 feet up in our garage last Spring & ate 3 or 4 eggs:BangHead:. ( at least that's how many lumps I could see in it's belly.)

Gave it a good tong lashing and let it go back in the woods.

Saw my first pair of robins today, in the yard here in southern Michigan. Bluebirds arrived a couple days earlier.

Agreed... Over here in Centerville, TN. we've had robins around for 2-3 weeks now.

Now 3 days ago I did have 60-70+ turkeys in my front lawn along with a deer. And yesterday I had about 30-40 turkeys in the back yard according to the dogs inside when I finally looked. And today I was using the "outside" facilities by my wood shop and saw 6 turkeys walk right now my road just looking at me. I really don't know who's pecker was larger.... but they don't get to vote!

You know about 3 Springs ago , I came upon some 20+ Wild Turkeys , after they moved on I hunted the Woods they had been in , A busy body comes along and complained I tore up the woods , fallen rotten trees & all.
I just said with sarcasm & a Exaggerated Country accent " OK Mam , you know u right". LOL
