Hi all,
I got out Sunday for a couple hours of hunting. Two of my fields that were corn stubble last fall had soybeans in them this year, so the stubble was much easier to deal with while gridding. In the field I spent a couple hours at an old home site (1873+) where I had previously only found one coin, an 1887 Canadian nickel. Early in the hunt I found my second thimble, which is in better shape than my first. After a few hours I got an even low tone and was hoping for my first V nickel. I was thrilled to see it was an 1868 shield nickel instead. :icon_thumleft:
Later in the afternoon I returned to a yard I started last weekend. Best find there were a Foster, Martin and Co. token, "hardware, stoves, and c., Grand Rapids, Mich., Monroe St." Not sure how rare it is, as an exact match isn't shown in my token database. Any help would be appreciated! Also found an old decorative pin thing, possibly a pin or off a purse or hat. :icon_scratch:

Thanks for looking and HH,
Michiganne

that shield is in nice shape. I love the thimble!

Congrats on a fine looking shield. :headbang:

The two I have dug were both pretty toasty.
