Today I went to try and find a mans white gold wedding band that had been lost two years ago. I met with him at his brothers house and he showed me where two years ago he had been working on a roofs guttering while standing on a scaffold and he had reached up to do something and then moved his hand down and the ring had caught and then gone flying off. He told me how he had spent around a day digging around through the dirt and debris and not found it. After a while he left and I kept searching for it. Well it turns out he was gone about four minutes tops when I had a really good sounding 10-12 signal. I stuck my screwdriver off to the signals edge and pried up and out rolled a silvery white ring !!!

So I then flipped the ring over to get a look at another side of it.

I started getting excited, this looked like white gold and not some plated junk !!
So I got on the phone and called him up and went, hey I think that the ring is found man! Unless someone else lost a silvery white gold ring here lol ! He went your not kidding me, right ?!? No come on back and see if this is your ring, he had not even made it back across town to his house yet ! So I left it laying on the ground as it was for him to see it there !!
Waiting for him to come back around the corner of the house:

Hes here now and I am waiting to catch that look on his face when he sees that ring for the first time in two years !

Hope you all enjoyed the story, I know some folks are a little more happy now that they were before =)
May all your recoveries be happy ones !!

Well done!! Great to see the smile on his face. I'd be willing to bet that he didn't think he would ever see it again! Good karma always pays off in the end and you've just put a boat load in the bank. GL & HH!!

Great pic of his reaction...congrats on the return...no feeling like the one you get when a person gets their ring back and you are the reason they got it back.

This is an Honorable Mention. Great job on the find and return.

Great story, great recovery, and much happiness on the owners part. Good on ya.

Very nice of you to volunteer to look for and find his ring. It helps to put our hobby in a good light for a change.

Class act !
That was really nice of you to leave it where found and let him enjoy the recovery, also.

Interesting that you left it laying there for him to see. I will have to remember that one!
