Hello iwhitley. Very nice, my first significantly old coin was also a V nickel...a 1905. HH C9

Congrats on a good find, and kudos for digging what was probably a less desirable tone.
 
Nice V nickel. I love finding nickels because they are so challenging, as granthansen said the tone is usually kind of iffy as is the VDI reading.
