I went to a place after work yesterday that I hunted at several times last year and had pulled out a few pieces of silver. I went over the area with my 10x12 SEF coil, but after hunting for over an hour and a half I only had found about 10 wheaties. I was trying to go over spots I've never been over, like in the overgrown fence rows but just couldn't get any good signals. I was headed back to my truck and decided to hit a spot right behind it. I got a nice signal right below the surface and was blown away when I saw it was an 1897 Barber Dime. I showed my kids and while my son was snapping a picture of it I got another decent signal and out popped the Merc. At this point we are flipping out that we pulled two silver dimes in a row. He took some shots of the Merc and I continued to hunt and my next signal was the Rosie! I had just dug my first dime trifecta within such short time of each other all in a row! It's crazy how fast a hunt can turn around. HH David

Hey thanks everyone! Yeah it's great that my kids tag along with me. They both enjoy history and get excited when we find something neat.

Hey Dave, it's great that you get to go out with your kids and hunt... unfortunately not many kids are as interested in history... I am, though...

Congrats on the silver dime trifecta! That 1897 barber is beautiful!

Nice when a bad day can turn really nice quickly, although I think 10 wheats is a record day. I have never dug a dime trifecta, but I have dug Barber dimes with a silver Canadian dime once and a Barber/Mercury and a Mercury/Rosy on two separate occasions.

Yesterday, I didn't find anything (only went out for one hour) and then got a speeding ticket less than a mile from the house on the way back. The officer was parked in a blind curve and told me they are cracking down due to school openings and they have a zero tolerance policy and he couldn't give me a warning. This was a new area and the speed limit went from 55 to 40 where it hits the city limits. I will have to report to court and the town is an hour away and the time is 8 am in the morning.

Hey thanks Isaac! It's awesome to see young folks like yourself in this hobby. I started detecting when I was 15 and have been hooked ever since! You've already made some great finds and it will just get better! HH & GL

Man that stinks about the ticket! That's how a good day can turn bad fast!

Thanks bud! Yeah my kids go with me about 90% of the time. We have made some good finds together. They swing a little bit too and have made some pretty nice finds. My son found a nice Federal Officer's Spur from the Civil War when he was 13 and my 10 year old daughter's first old coin find was a Shield Nickel. Talk about a proud papa!
