To all,
Alright, so it is nothing special as far as coins go but it is still my first silver quarter with a detector. I found it about 2-3" down in a park today while hunting with my children (they share a National Geographic detector which works OK in parks like where we were today because there is a lot of shallow clad). They were both peering into the hole trying to find the coin when I noticed an edge sticking out of the plug. It looked different than the other quarter edges I regularly find in this park and sure enough, when my daughter plucked it from the plug, I knew immediately that it was silver; a 1964 but still a silver quarter. Found it with the Ace 250 while trying to clear out the shallow stuff for a later visit when I will attempt to sniff out deepies with the Explorer.
Thanks for looking. Take care.
