Went out for a couple hours in the AM and started on a mid 1800's property. I put on my 5" dd coil to try and comb through the trash pit behind where the old house once sat. Ended up pulling out an interesting flat button with what looks like a horseshoe on the front. Also got a makeup compact and a lantern part. After getting tired of the iron machine gun signals I decided to swap the tornado coil back on and hit an old field I've been over numerous times. I took my time and dug just about any deep signals I could find. The targets are getting scarce here. After digging the usual deep iron and hot rocks I started heading back towards the car and got a great sounding tight signal that came in just under the usual wheat penny numbers. Dug a plug and stuck in the top about 3-4 inches down was a cut piece of spanish silver! Totally made my day! Thanks for looking and good luck all on any time off this weekend.

Congratulations on the cut silver! :occasion14:

Wow, that is an awesome surprise! Congrats!!

Found in PA too? Cut silver much more prevalent in the southern colonies

Do you find a lot of British/State coppers in your area?

Funny you ask. I was just going to post that this is the same field I found a 1737 KG2 exactly a month ago. The only state copper I've seen dug in the area was by my dad back when I was a teen. Had a big shield on it.....Virginia I think?

Shield is NJ.

Killer cut silver. Big congrats.
