Found this standing liberty today along with a few wheats and another barber dime!

Help me identify it please. From my understanding dateless can be 1916, 1917 but the 1916 did NOT have 3 stars under the eagle. So im guessing its a 1917 that the date has been rubbed off?

Dateless could be any year really - but more likely 1917-1924 - since they recessed the date slightly within the pedestel in 1925,
making it less susceptible to wearing off . Man , I've always wanted to find one of these quarters !!! Argentium.

Congrats, I've found only one myself, which was also dateless, you can kind of narrow it down by the design on the obverse (back of coin) no stars below eagle 1916-1917 stars below eagle 1917-1930. Congrats on the SLQ Detroit digger

great find. and yes, it could be any date like argentium pointed out

Great Find! Those are hard to come by. I have found only one, 1921. I was excited to see it in my plug. Way to go! :icon_thumleft:

Thanks guys. It was a shocker when i seen the side of it in the plug! Same area brought some other coins as well. A 1912 barber dime, and a couple misc wheaties. We got ran off by the "village president" shortly after. But yet the county sherrif told us city parks in illinios are FAIR GAME to anyone as long as its a public park. More to this story later. It was a heated dispute which i ended up telling the lady to move her car or im gonna run it over. Anyways, we wont go into that here. Those small village people think they run the places.

Great find !! I remember exactly where I found mine also dateless but they are beauties !!! Congrats to you !!!

It seems like just about everyone found is dateless, just like buffalo nickels, I can remember exactly where I found mine as well

I was just trying to be helpful, the info I gave was from the 2012 redbook, just trying to help out

I found one a few months ago on my buddies farm that was built in 1895...It was a 1925...congrats on awesome find

Congrats on a nice coin. :icon_thumleft: My first was dateless but have since found a dated one. Always a fun coin to find.

Sweet find even without a date. How about we just consider it a key date? Keep them coming.
