Rons right ..... pretty nasty down here right now. Smells like rotten clam chowder. some are wearing surgical masks.... look weird. Hope its not soon these fronts really have the waves crashing as well if you were thinking water hunting. Seems to be a busy busy time right now for dry sand hunting as well. There are people on the beach, but ive seen about 4 hunters hitting the dry sand every time out recently. Not been a very product year thus far with all the sand constantly pushing in.
Get a Sand Scoop! It will save you a lot of time and cussing. Plan on "Gridding" the dry sand at the "towel line" for the best results. This is just above the High Tide mark, where people spread ot their towels and blankets. What machine are you going to take?
An absolute killer in the dry sand! In the wet sand and water you will have to dumb it way down though, dropping your sensitivity quite a bit to keep it from falsing and chattering. Use the same gridding technique in the wet sand. Start at the high end of the wet sand and detect down into the water, turn around and move one step over and detect back up to the high end of the water line - rinse and repeat. DO NOT just walk in a straight line or "W" pattern up or down the beach! That is stritly for hit and miss newbies. Low, really slow, keep your eyes up to enjoy the scenery and have fun!
