Welcome! You are in the land of high adventure detecting in the UK. It won't be long before you have a fine collection. ;)

Welcome to TN.
Congrats on the ring.
You'll need to hang out with Crusader. He knows all the hot spots. ;D

There are a few of us that go to the Thetford area to go "tecktorin" as a freind of mine says loads of good finds in there! Just got to get permission from the forestry commision.

Welcome! Could that metal ring be a bird band?

Artemis Moon,
Good guess. I didn't think of that. Very well could be a bird band.

Marshall,
What do you think? How large is that band? Can you see where it could be pinched together?

It only gets better. Keep posting.

Way to go on the first time out. I'll bet that hammer rang loud and clear. Check the number on that bird band, and if you report it you will get some great info. Keep at it and keep em coming!
