Detector(s) used
whites xlt / Beach hunter 300/ whites 5d,garrett 400
Went to the beach late afternoon ,Search the sand and around the water edge,Had about a hour or two,First day found some clad quarters and dimes ,a few pennies and a silver ring, will be going back tomorrow morning and afternoon. any one know a detector that will display gold better than my xlt? dont get me wrong my xlt has been a great work horse but you know looking at +7 thru + 50 and digging makes a great day for pull tabs.

My Cortez pinpoints dead-on, and gold comes up all over, I have yet to dig two rings that come in the same. Sometimes they jump from low nickel up to silver. I will say though, that after diggin' enough gold, you start to get a "feel" for it.

Unfortunately Juice you can't get away from the pull tab's totally.....Somehow they find there way into the mix.Nice find's for your first beach hunt, not bad at all!!!

I will never understand how the lighter weight pull tabs always sink in the same places as the much heavier rings. But when I dig rings out of the dirt, the pulltabs are always floating just above the heavier rings. ::). Nice haul, and when you find a machine that only locates gold rings, let me know first, okay? :icon_jokercolor:.......Not GE
