Way back in the late 70's and early 80's I used to do a little "speculating".
I'd buy foreign silver and gold coins and bullion. That was back when gold was making a steady climb and Krugerands were becoming popular. I did great until the market leveled and then dropped. I sold out quickly and just in time to break even with the stock I was currently holding.

I think the future of investment has been forever changed given recent failures... I pulled out of a mutual fund too late...

Are there lessons learned? I know what I learned... LOL
