Check out the choppers on these fish !! They slice through bone, flesh, line, and sometimes even wire. They are very, very sharp !!

At the same time we are catching all the bait we will need for our trip to eleuthera bahamas.20190105_140040.jpg these are ballyhoo. We net them and then brine them in the chill box before vacuum packing them and freezing them. So far we have 21 dozen baits. These ballyhoo are like gold in the bahamas, and can be traded for just about anything.

That's a done deal holepuncher !! I'll PM you if I head that way, and you do the same if you ever get down here. Congrats on an open season, that's great news. Post up some pics if you get them.

20190107_132408.jpg snorkeling today. I didn't want to get in because it's cold. Then we went to a 1760 galleon wreck. Needless to say it was fantastic. There is a cutlass down there that's embedded in coral. Even if I were allowed to retrieve it, it would be nearly impossible to recover in one piece. Still a big moment for me, it's bad arse even though I cant take it. That's a first for me a real cutlass from a galleon. I may let the Archie's know where it is so they can try and recover it.

Incredible, could you get a picture of it?

I'm gonna try to. Gotta get back before the weather hits and covers it up. I've got a few ballast stones stacked next to it.

I got a Traeger smoker for Christmas, my belly will never be the same. I grew up eating smoked salmon we caught snagging. These trout we caught ice fishing are almost comparable to my Grandpas. We caught our limit in about an hour before sunrise! Cant wait to go back! That pink meat can’t be beat! All rainbows! 45908E8F-E1F2-4F03-862A-1A4870DCB4F3.jpegD286320E-0AC6-4CC8-9FEF-4E72690209E0.jpeg7C2FABCB-3CC4-4027-AE75-9E6BE3C7864A.jpeg

Man that looks good, I'll have to look up what a traeger smoker is ?? I love smoking fish though. Never seen a bright orange trout either......looks just like salmon. Cool, thanks for posting diggingthe1.

20190117_193252.jpg bad shot of a great fish.......162 pound wahoo on 50 pound gear. I'll have to see if that's a record or not. Caught on board my bahamian friends boat yesterday. They spent over an hour battling this beast !!

Caught most of them around this piece of mangled boat. It was bobbing along in 2800 feet of water.
