Let’s hope that Katherine has a safe return and is not molested or hurt.
White sharks have been swimming off Florida’s Atlantic Coast for thousands of years.
Researchers believe that they migrate South during the winter and go back North for the summer.
Usually, they do not get close to Florida’s Shores.
However, Sixteen –foot Mary Lee’s track, is being studied in an effort to determine why her track was more dynamic being within the surf zone of Jacksonville Beach in Jan 2013.

I would think, that it would be more likely that one would be bitten by an untagged shark than a tagged one as only a few are tagged.

In my opinion, you are in far greater danger of being in an accident while driving to the beach, stepping on something or being cut while retrieving a target, or drowning, If one is attacked, it would most likely be by his fellow man.

In the remote instance, that it was a shark, I would worry more about bull sharks and tiger sharks which thrive in Florida waters.

Oh bye the way, Great White Sharks are now protected in California, where many attacks occur, under that States Endangered Species Act,
They currently are on Australia’s protected species list and are protected in many parts of the world.

Any aerial shots of her movements? I guess there tracking her every movements?

Katherine only pings when her dorsal fin breaks the surface. She could have come in closer to shore at anytime between pings. Anyone know if sharks can hear the electronic tone emitted by a submerged detector?

she is a ton of fun...just stay out of her way...diver in a black wet suit looks a lot like a big ole fat seal --one of the great whites favorite food items.---bull sharks are much more common and much more likely to attack you --since they love shallow waters. --bull sharks are known to be highly aggressive.
