Flat button backmark "IMPERIAL STANDARD"??

I recently dug a flat button with this backmark. No adornment on the front of the button. I have found multiple flat buttons w/no backmarks at this site. Any information would be appreciated.

Don't know a lot about it but believe it's a generic mark used by several makers. It is a British made button though.
