Actually it was a field. The field had an old house years ago. The owner said that when he was a boy his dad had him roll the foundation stones out of the field. They harvested a few weeks ago and I got out for a few hours today and dug these buttons. Ive been trying to find out some info on the one with the star or sun image. I’m trying to date it or the others. The owner said he let a guy hunt it a few years back and he found a civil war buckle. I suspect that guy hit that field pretty hard after that but I’ve managed to still find about 14 buttons total (10 today and some along the edges a couple months ago). I was hoping for one coin but I can’t complain. EDC24C46-16F1-4095-B383-C0F1F02117D3.jpegEDC24C46-16F1-4095-B383-C0F1F02117D3.jpegE8BCDFF5-A6BD-4ACD-BFC2-AB94A7C1C6AE.jpeg

Hahaha I sure hope not! Actually the owner has his own hobby that takes up most of his time. I won’t go into too much info on that but he is a busy guy for his age. If the previous detectorist finding a cw buckle didn’t make him wanna buy one I’m sure he isn’t gonna start now. He is a heckuva guy. Gave us permission to several properties equaling 200-300 acres of land. Thank goodness for gis cause he started rattling off places that I could have never remembered.

Sweet relic finds! :occasion14:

Star one is a Dandy Button - 1750-80.

I was going to say that your buttons look like they date from late 1700s to early 1800s. Very nice finds! Could be Rev War or War of 1812 stuff in there! What kind of detector are you using?

Very nice haul of buttons!!!

wow. I knew it was old but that’s awesome. That gives me much motivation to get back out there. Thanks for the info brother.

I was using the deus with the 11” x35 coil. Using a sabisch coin program variation with the sensitivity on 97.
