Found a new field to hunt that is far drive from my home but I can't wait to get back. I had about two hours and did maybe half of it but a very quick and rushed hunt. I found six musket balls (gave two to the owner), seven flat buttons, two coins and a thimble (my first complete one) and a strange buckle. The buckle rang in as steady silver but don't know what it's made of and it was as deep as the other finds. I want to get back and give the area a proper hunt. I know there is lots more finds there and maybe some old silver coins if I'm lucky! :)

Anyone think I should post it by itself on a new thread? :)

The silver is tarnished but here's some new pictures. Is it possible it says R L instead of T L? image-220854106.webp image-895499774.webp image-219072589.webp

That is an awesome early silver buckle...very rare in silver and intact! Congrats!

Thanks man. I got back to the site for just under an hour and got a flat button with a flower design, a worn coin and 5 more musket balls. Got to be more good finds there. I'm driving there and working so I only get to run over if I get time. It's a big area and far from home.
