Florida Park & Beach Finds
On my way to the park I wanted to stop at this section of road where they have dug out a strip of grass for a new sidewalk. I found a place to park and got setup with my Garrett and my Vibra Probe. I first find a nail, then something else that I can't locate, I whip out the probe and it doesn't turn on. I go back to the trunk to change the battery, when I open it, this battery acid smelling gunk pours out all over my hand. I'm standing there trying to figure out what to do with this, I didn't want to touch anything! So I finally find a grocery bag in the trunk and wrap the parts in there. I drive the car home with one hand and get everything cleaned up. That killed an hour or so of my MDing time. I think I had the back of the probe inserted wrong, because when I reassembled it, I couldn't see how water had leaked in there. Unless it was just the battery that came with it blowing up. After it dried out, it was working great and I jumped in the car and made it to the park before the temperature went below 95!!
My abbreviated stay at the park hauled in most of the clad and what my wife says looks like a gold nipple ring (eewwhh).
Low tide was late today, so I headed over to Flagler Beach. Found most of the clad and junk in the soft dry sand, found a toe ring in the wet sand near the low tide line. Went knee deep in the water for about an hour without even one signal!
