Folks, Saying goodbye to Smokey.....

Folks,

For those of you who are animal lovers/pet owners the toughest thing is having our pets put down when the time comes.

Well our house cat Smokey had various health issues including kidney failure....he weighed about 11 pounds before getting ill and I doubt he weighed 7 lbs when I took this picture last night he was about the same size as our other cat Lucky before getting ill.

We couldn't let him suffer anymore and had him put to sleep this morning.

Sorry to read that Uncle.
Sometimes our intervening makes it easier than letting nature take its course.
Still , that short term lifespan contract with animals comes at a cost of loss.

I'm so sorry. It seems he had a good life with you and was loved, though.

Bill.... I sure share your pain also. We've rescued dogs for years. Within the past 1.5 yrs. we've had to put down 3 of them and your so right it's hard to do. I presently have an old black lab, "Mamma Dog" who is my shadow at all times. Her back hip is on it's last leg and she won't be here much longer either. Sounds like you did all you could for ole' Smoky.

It's tough but you can feel better about having given him the good life he surely had. Sure beats the life of an alley cat!
