I went out early this morning to do another hunt of this football field that had a good yield the first area I hunted. I decided to hunt the area that I thought everyone had to cross to get to the field, and where the kids probably played during the games. I really thought I would find a lot of clad, and most likely a few pieces of jewelry. It turned out just the opposite. I found very few coins, one wheat that I can't read the date yet, and no jewelry. I did find a lot of other neat things. I found a lot of lead and slag, lots of pieces of things unknown, and the few things I have in the picture. The slag in the picture is not lead, or soft like lead. It is very heavy and a silver color when I tried to scratch it. Probably a lead alloy of some sort, and the only piece like it I found. I found way more than the pic shows, I just wanted to give an example of the finds. This hunt was really pretty cool because you never knew what you were going to find next. I'll hunt more of it in the morning.
