Can you apply for another permit? I know more French ships are out there, problem is France still might try to stop everything again, keep Florida unwilling to give the salvage permit. France lost control of that part of Florida east coast, after Spain set up a smaller military outpost just south of St Augustine. Spain commissioned the outpost to salvage shipwrecks, to help survivors, and to guard that area of coastline. The French got into a fight with Spain over it, then finally something happened to a French fleet with ships lost. French ships are out there, just need the salvage permit to get paid. Depending on how many French ships didn't sink where we now have historical, national, protected waters. A couple of the French ships probably could be out far enough, to be in the international water.
