Nice finds Petrie. Now, I searched Google and found a "toy gun" (not saying your Derringer is a toy - but this puppy was very similar) on Nichols "Dyna-Mite" Derringer Cap Pistol

You lucky dog! That is an awesome find. That is above almost every silver coin on my bucket list. Thank a bunch for showing us! Hope you stay lucky.

I know what you mean. I found half of a toy revolver not too long ago and some of those older ones look and feel so real that its kinda scary! Even each individual part of mine was heavy and solid as a rock. You'd get shot no questions asked for pulling out one of those these days.

VP it is a toy but it has a bullet in it I guess the caps go into the actual bully mold and it's heavy! When I first got it out I really thought it was real even after opening it and seeing a bullet I thought oh **** I found a derringer oh **** I found a LOADED derringer!! Lol!!! That why I put the pic speaks volumes LOL!!!!!! Looks good though don't it

For a guy that owns so many guns, and this one giving you that nitro moment of "IS IT?" says something for the quality of the piece.

It's a great looking toy that would have been a show piece to your childhood buddies.

Your not lying! Everything was just made better back then! Not only do I own a lot of guns but I am a master gunsmith and I really had to study it for a bit especially after seeing the removable bullet inside the bottom chamber! It's amazing the detail with firing pins and everything in this toy !

Didn't they make cap pistols that the bullet was where the cap was placed, is this the case with this one?
