Fossil dating

No, I don't mean asking out someone on a date. There is a quarry near my village, sandstone, how do you date the fossils? Right now I've found mostly shells, a few sharks teeth. Any reliable way?

A quick way is to find a Geological map of your area,should tell you of what age any of the deposits are.
A good thing to have and usually cheap too.
Libraries also have them
I have a set for where I live and gives all fossils to the state and what the names of the deposits are.
USGS for your state is where I think off Hand.
