Rock with quartz inclusions - possibly contains some Au.

Wet the rock with water take it into a room where the camera flash will fire then re-post the picture.

Another simple test which will reveal a precious metal, grind a small portion of the rock into a powder then using a coffee carafe outside down wind from where your standing cover the powder with HCL aka Muriatic acid then add a bit of bleach.

The two chemicals combined create chlorine gas you do not want to breath the fumes.

Let the liquor set for a couple of days, if you can heat the vessel this will speed up the process.

Filter the liquor then add a bit of scrap copper if a black precipitate forms onto the copper you have a precious metal present in the leach.

Once you have established the presence of a precious metal send another sample from your rock in for an assay.

Maybe you just discovered the next Eldorado.

To render the spent leach safe for disposal now add a bit of scrap iron which will precipitate the remaining metals into solids.

When working with liqours containing metal ions be sure to wear gloves and protective eye wear.

To understand the process, any metal in the electromotive series of metals above will precipitate any below it in the list.

Good question to ask is where it came from (Nevada?). If this is your Nevada rock, the state is full of old mines and mining sites.

Looking at this photo, tried clearing it up, then flipped it.

Only to compare, reason for flipping photo. Not saying what it is, just taking a closer look.
