Found this on an Island near vancouver. Its shell was almost complete (with cracks) when I found it, when I hit it with another rock some shell cracked off. Recently I ground it down and it has a greeny granite like inside. a bit bigger than a chicken egg. someone told me there is a volcanic process that can cause this, which would make sense, but its shape and shell are compelling.

Welcome to TNET! I do not think that you item is a fossil egg. But it does look like a rock nodule that consists of chert or other mineralized substances.
