Well, I proved to my wife last Sunday that no permission is ever really hunted out. We were goofing around in our back yard; wife was finding out where my pellet gun target was a few years ago. I was just swinging the Manticore looking for deeper targets if any left and came across an iron grunt that showed all bars deep. I figured I'd dig it and see. Was about 10 inches deep. Turned out to be a child's size ferrous ring that still had the stone. I figured the stone was plastic, but upon closer inspection I think it's glass. Pretty cool find.

I can't image it's much older than the house, 1966. Original family had 2 daughters. Probably belonged to one of them.

If the stone feels cool on the cheek then it's glass, warm is plastic.

Cool finds. Thanks for sharing and Congratulations!

I'm definitely thinking it's cut glass, as plastic would've been long eroded by now.
I've never seen a ring that rusty before either... it may have been a prize from a gumball machine back in the 50s. :dontknow:
