Found a cache! This year has been unreal.

What an experience! Thank you for sharing. A silver cache dig on video is a rare pleasure, thank you and congratulations.

Well, we weren't REALLY expecting to find much, by that I mean we were expecting some minies, camp junk and maybe a coin from the other side of the field, we could have missed some over there and we did. This was MUCH. I thought at first I had some semi precious aluminum - again. But the signal was a little different.

First camera was a Brownie.

I tried to shoot 120 film in my brown 620 over the winter, unfortunately my homemade 620 spool fell apart while loading into the tank :sadsmiley:. I will try again though, and hopefully be able to get it working. I collect cameras, my oldest is a 1902 Brownie (edit, made between between 1908 and 1917), they haven't made film for that since the 1920's though.

18 miles west by northwest of my house. My dad got me started with cameras. He had a good quality 16mm camera with sound he used to record th 1960-1965 Civil War Centennial. He even had a darkroom I was allowed to use once. Now I can do in 2 hours what he would take a month to do.

I would be smiling for days and dreaming of what is to come.....Congrats!!!!

no telling how much has been lost to burying money and either forgetting where it was buried or the owner died etc. That has been my hope for years (as everyone else) to find something like that. congrats for the exciting find

For what it's worth, we have touched 1 acre of 55. Some of it is unmanageable wilderness however. Most is fields. Rocky fields. Really rocks fields, except in a few places.

Awesome! Congrats !

Something embarrassing: when trying out the Deus right after Christmas, I buried some coins in the lawn, including two mercs. Still can't find the mercs. I had forgotten we had a kid's swimming pool set up where I put them, and apparently there was a lot of iron from a 19th century house that is right behind mine which wound up "downhill". Note to self: Bury test coins in big plastic bags.

Awesome cache and video. You were WAY calmer than I would have been.

I guarantee I was focused on what we were doing!

Simply Amazing !! Even better since I witnessed the find. 2 caches in two weeks. Speechless. Voting Banner for sure!

Thanks for the banner vote. Got more silver today from a new spot. Just getting going there.

Congrats Smokey on the stellar find(s).

Well done just seeeeeeeems soooo "regular responsish" for such a find.

So...

Super well done. :)

I also consider this a banner... for the simple fact its a cache.

Never mind the important coins involved that also may put this "over the top".

Anyway... again... Stellar.

Go back asap.

BIG NEWS! Now that my cold is better and I can talk, type and SEE, one of the Mercs is a 1921-D KEY DATE! This is my first key date.
