found a gun today

Found this in the woods today, its just a kids toy but figured since finds are a bit slow id post it. The trigger and hammer still works on it, looks pretty old, maybe from the 50s or 60s. This was only an inch down under the leaves and pine needles, 2 feet from it i found a 91 quarter 4 inches down

no, no markings. looked all over it. just Texas, and made in USA.

Some sad little buckaroo couldn't play cowboys and indians anymore. I agree... looks 50's... maybe up to mid 60's

I found one identicle to it about 15 years ago. It was about 6 inches under.

6"? wow, thats good condition for being that deep, looks like these things hold up pretty good. Whenever I find something in the woods its usually not that deep, 3" tops.

I've found 2 this year. I believe they date from the 50's. Mine had the cows head on the side as well as a star.

Wow. I ALSO found the same gun, same condition, about 2 inches down. Don't have a pic handy though. I'll try to post one when I get done evacuating. I'm in Houston for business.

As UPN alluded to, it looks a lot like an earlier version of a Hubley Texan. Fun find!

The 6 inches was probably added topsoil since it was grass.

Found one very similar, just says "Tex" definately a Hubley
