I got 1 not too long ago. Don't find many, but get that rush everytime I found even 1 of these. In the 3 years I've been doing this. I've built a nice collection here are a few from my collection. I'd like to say I've got lots of these but I don't. I find more W.L.'s than proofs. I have had the good fortune to have gotten 1 of each year though, from 1968 to 2006 and a couple of Franklin's. and a couple of 90%'s like the 97 another rush.
I got that one at my dump bank about 4 month's ago, what a RUSH.!!! As my teller was paying me off I saw it across the room mixed in with a dozen other junk halves in the drive through tellers tray. That's about 10 feet. That white stripe was actually glistening.
The 70s was found on a cold call in my early days, and my first proof coin ever. That teller had 5 half dollars.

Enjoy the view. CRH Mojo

I found a mirrored and frosted 1965 yesterday and didn't notice a mintmark right off. I didn't have time to spend studying it. I looked in the Redbook and didn't see where there were proofs made that year. Anyone know what I got? Also found one of those halves with the "slotted" edge. It's slotted the entire circumference of the coin.

Sounds like you got a SMS (Special Mint Set) example. Some of those were pretty proof-like.
