I found a tooth today while i was detecting a river. I have no idea on what it came from or age. Im in Michigan. The roots are almost like a petrified wood while the enamled area is thick and heavy like shell. The roots are fragile one broke off while i was handling it. Ive attached pictures. Please help!

Welcome to tnet!

Your tooth looks like a fossilized ruminant tooth, most possibility a deer.

I would go with whitetail deer.
